With over 30 years of leadership in private equity, government, and operating roles, Perry’s career is grounded in lasting partnerships and operational excellence. As a Founding Partner at Beringer Capital, he brings a founder-first mindset to help businesses scale and create enduring value.
Before joining private equity, Perry spent over a decade in senior operating roles across the marketing, media, and data sectors. He led one of Canada’s largest independent marketing agencies, guiding its growth through organic expansion. This success ultimately led to a strategic acquisition by a global firm, where he went on to oversee international operations. This hands-on experience anchors Perry’s work at Beringer, shaping how the firm builds resilient, high-performing businesses.
As a co-founder of Beringer Capital, Perry has built a track record of positioning companies for expansion, market leadership, and successful exits. Through past investments, he has shaped a philosophy that emphasizes technology as a crucial lever for enabling future-oriented scale and adaptability. At Beringer, this mindset drives how the firm identifies opportunity, builds alignment, and turns digital innovation into strategic advantage.
Perry has held board roles across both public and private companies, including the LCBO during its transformation into a globally recognized retailer. He recently completed terms on the boards of Andrew Peller Wines and Trillium Health Partners, a leading community-based hospital system in Canada. His board contributions center his priority to cultivate relationships to navigate change and growth. As an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization, he went on to chair Canada’s largest chapter and continues to serve as a mentor to emerging leaders.
Perry has held senior roles within Canada’s federal government, including serving as Chief of Staff to the Minister of International Trade during the first NAFTA negotiations. His work across international trade, energy, and defense helped form a deep understanding of how policy decisions shape global markets and inform risk.
In recognition of his exceptional contributions to public service and community impact, Perry was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal. His longstanding commitment to strengthening Canada’s provincial and federal governments, supporting philanthropic initiatives, and investing in the growth of Canadian businesses is a testament to the impact of his leadership.
Outside the office, Perry is an avid outdoorsman and passionate fisherman, with contributions published in Real Fishing magazine. He enjoys cycling, hiking, and cooking, especially dishes inspired by his Italian heritage. A graduate of Western University with a BA in Economics, he continues to support his alma mater and other leading Canadian universities through guest lecturing and sharing his insights with students. These personal pursuits reflect the curiosity, passion, and perspective he brings to both life and business.
